The light is blinding. Not the sterile glare of the hospital, but a raw, unfiltered sun that scorches my eyelids even closed. Sand grinds beneath me. I cough, a rattling, wet sound, and taste something metallic and acrid on my tongue. Blood? Panic flares. I remember the machines, the beeping, the hushed voices that spoke of days, not futures. Now, there is only heat, the rasp of wind, and the alien scent of blooming vegetation mixed with decay. I force my eyes open, squinting against the sun. Gone is the familiar order of the hospital. Above, a sky of impossible blue arches over a landscape that bleeds into the horizon. Before me stretches a beach of black sand that glitters like obsidian. The air hums with an energy that makes my skin prickle. My body feels…wrong. Lighter, yet stronger. I sit up, wincing as muscles I didn't know I had protest. My hands, calloused and unfamiliar, clench into fists. I am naked. Vulnerable. And utterly, terrifyingly alone. A giggle. The sound is like wind chimes, delicate and alluring, cutting through the crashing waves. I turn, my heart hammering against my ribs, and see her. She stands at the edge of the surf, where the black sand meets the churning water. Naked, unashamed, and breathtakingly beautiful. Her skin glows with an inner light, her hair a cascade of raven silk that dances in the breeze. Eyes, the color of molten gold, sparkle with amusement and something else…recognition? "Welcome, Tim," she says, her voice a melody that seems to resonate within my very bones. "Welcome to Ibland." A wave crashes against the shore, sending a spray of saltwater over her bare feet. She doesn't flinch, doesn't move, only smiles, a knowing, seductive curve of her lips. The sun catches the moisture on her skin, turning her into a goddess of light and shadow. The goddess extends her hand for me to take, "here let me help you up." she says to me as she walks closer.

Hesitation flickers through me. Her touch could be a lifeline, or a snare. But the black sand is cold beneath my bare skin, and the sun beats down with merciless intensity. With a surge of resolve, I take her hand. Her skin is warm, surprisingly firm. A jolt of energy courses through me as she pulls me to my feet. My legs tremble, threatening to buckle, but I manage to stand, swaying slightly with the newfound energy. "What… what's going on?" I stammer, my voice hoarse. "Am I dead? Where am I?". My eyes look up and down the beach and all I see is sand for miles. Her smile widens, a playful glint in her golden eyes. "Dead-ish," she says, her tone light, almost teasing. "As for where… this is Ibland. My little project." She strikes a cute pose with her arms outstretched. "Project?" I repeat, bewildered. "What kind of project? Why am I here?" She tilts her head, her raven hair cascading over her shoulders. "Oh, I brought you here, Tim. Not out of pity, mind you. I saw something… intriguing in you. A perverted, reclusive soul with a hidden spark." Her gaze intensifies, boring into me. "I wanted to see what you would do in a new world, with a clean slate. How you would… ummmm... blossom." My mind reels. Perverted? Reclusive? She saw that? A flush creeps up my neck and I think about what else she knows about me. "Now, now, don't get embarrassed," she says, as if reading my thoughts. "Those little quirks are what made you interesting. And because I'm the one who brought you here, I'll give you a few advantages." She snaps her fingers, and a screen flickers into existence before my eyes. It's semi-transparent, like a holographic display superimposed over reality. Runes and symbols dance across its surface, resolving into coherent text. Tim Status: Reborn Skills: None (yet) Attributes: To Be Determined The screen pulses with a soft light, and a wave of information floods my mind. It's intuitive, as if I instinctively understand the language and the system. "This is your status screen," the goddess explains, her voice laced with amusement. "It will track your progress, your skills, your… everything. Only you can see it, so don't worry about flashing people." She adds with a cute giggle. I stare at the screen, mesmerized. This is insane. Impossible. And yet, here it is. "So," the goddess says, stepping closer. Her nearness is intoxicating, her scent a blend of salt, flowers, and something wild and untamed. "What skills do you desire? What favors do you want from the one who brought you here?" The waves crash against the black sand, a rhythmic pulse in the alien landscape, as she watches me with a knowing smile.

I glance again at the status screen, the impossible reality solidifying in my mind. "So, I can have any skills I want?" I ask, a thrill of possibility mixed with disbelief surging through me. I glance again at the status screen, the impossible reality solidifying in my mind. "So, I can have any skills I want?" I ask, a thrill of possibility mixed with disbelief surging through me. The goddess nods, her golden eyes sparkling with amusement. "Yup. Within reason, of course. I can't make you an all-powerful god right away, now can I?" "Okay," I say slowly, considering. "Okay, how about… blacksmithing and leatherworking? I always liked to do things with my hands." A playful smile curves her lips. "Ooh, I bet those hands will do amazing work." A small blush creeps across my face, but I push it aside, focusing on the task at hand. "And I'll need a place to live and work, right?" I ask, my mind racing with the practicalities of survival. She claps her hands together, her eyes dancing. "Oh, I have a spot not far from here! I've made you a small cabin in the forest. It has food for the next month and everything you need to get started with your new life." I take a deep breath, trying to absorb everything. This is a lot to process. "What else will I need?" I murmur, lost in thought. Survival skills, definitely. Maybe some knowledge of local plants and animals. And definitely some kind of weapon. Before I can voice my thoughts, the goddess speaks, her tone turning serious for the first time. "After I leave you today, I won't interfere with your life unless absolutely necessary, Tim. This is your journey, your story. I can only give you a push in the right direction." She winks, the playfulness returning to her eyes. "But I promise to keep a very close eye on you." She steps closer, placing her hand on my chest, right over my heart. Her touch sends a shiver through me, a strange mix of warmth and energy. Her touch lingers, the weight of her gaze intense as she waits for me to finish adding more skills to my mental list, a silent invitation to shape my destiny. The air crackles with unspoken possibilities, the black sand warm beneath my feet, and the goddess's scent fills my senses as I consider the future that stretches before me, a tapestry woven with both peril and promise.
