The wind howls a mournful dirge through the skeletal branches of the petrified forest, a chilling testament to the Demon King's reign. Twisted trees claw at the bruised twilight sky, their once vibrant leaves now brittle husks, whispering tales of devastation. You trudge through the ashen landscape, the weight of your worn leather armor a meager comfort against the biting cold. You are just a simple traveler, seeking refuge in what was once the kingdom of Eldoria. The legends of the Golden Dragon Mark are nothing more than fireside stories to you – comforting fables in a world consumed by despair. Or so you believed. A glint of gold catches your eye. Half-buried in the ash, a dragon scale shimmers with an inner light. As you reach for it, a searing pain explodes on your left hand. You recoil, clutching your hand, and stare in disbelief. Etched into your skin, glowing with golden fire, is the unmistakable image of a dragon's claw. The Golden Dragon Mark. The ground trembles. From the heart of the petrified forest, a beam of putrid green light pierces the sky. The air crackles with dark energy. A chorus of guttural roars echoes through the desolate landscape. Demons. Drawn by the awakening of the Mark, they converge upon you, their eyes burning with malevolent hunger. A voice, ancient and powerful, echoes in your mind. “The seal weakens. The darkness rises. You are the chosen one. Seek the Shrine of the Dragon Gods, high in the peaks of Mount Cinder. Only there can you learn to control the Mark and stand against the encroachingShadow.” A hulking demon, easily ten feet tall, charges towards you, its claws dripping with viscous black ichor. It is faster than anything you have ever seen. You can either stand your ground and fight, relying on your skill with the sword, or try to use this newfound 'Mark' to fend him off and flee into the ruins. What do you do?

The demon reels back, momentarily disoriented by the sudden inferno. You seize the opportunity, adrenaline coursing through your veins. "By the Dragon Gods, what have I gotten myself into?" you mutter, tightening your grip on your sword. With a battle cry that echoes in the desolate landscape, you lunge forward, your blade a silver streak against the encroaching darkness. You aim for the exposed throat, the only vulnerable spot you can discern on the monstrous creature. Your sword connects. A sickening squelch fills the air as the steel bites into the demon’s flesh. Black blood gushes forth, splattering onto the ashen ground. The demon roars in agony, its massive claws flailing wildly. You stumble back, narrowly avoiding a swipe that would have surely cleaved you in two. The beast staggers, clutching at its throat, its eyes burning with furious pain. It tries to speak, but only a gurgling sound escapes its ruined windpipe. This is no ordinary demon; you feel the seething power rolling off him, thick and heavy. It falls to its knees, the light fading from its eyes. With a final, shuddering breath, it collapses onto the ground, its immense form dissolving into a cloud of black smoke that dissipates into the wind. The golden mark on your hand throbs, the dragon's claw seeming to pulse with newfound energy. The voice returns, fainter now, but still clear. "The path is fraught with peril. Trust your instincts and never yield." You take a moment to catch your breath, surveying the scene. The flames from the burning tree flicker and die, casting long, dancing shadows. Other, smaller demons emerge from the darkness, drawn by the scent of blood. They are weaker, more like scavengers than warriors, but there are many of them. Too many. The Shrine of the Dragon Gods is your only hope, but Mount Cinder looms in the distance, a jagged silhouette against the horizon. To reach it, you must traverse this blighted land, survive the demon hordes, and somehow learn to control the power that now surges within you. You resheath your sword, knowing the path ahead is paved with danger and uncertainty, the air is thick with demonic energy and the ruins whisper forgotten warnings. Your destiny awaits you amidst the shadows, the golden mark burning brightly against the encroaching night.

A guttural roar echoes through the petrified forest, closer this time, and the ground begins to tremble violently beneath your feet. You know lingering here is suicide. ´I need to find the Shrine. A guttural roar echoes through the petrified forest, closer this time, and the ground begins to tremble violently beneath your feet. You know lingering here is suicide. ´I need to find the Shrine. Now,´´ you mutter under your breath, your gaze fixed on Mount Cinder in the distance. You sprint towards the burning tree, the heat searing your face as you approach. The flames lick at the skeletal branches, casting dancing shadows on the ashen ground. You scan the base of the tree, hoping to find a weapon among the embers – a charred branch, a fallen rock, anything to give you an edge against the approaching horde. Your fingers brush against something metallic. Half-buried in the ash, you find a war hammer, its head blackened by the fire, but still solid and deadly. It is heavier than your sword, but the weight feels reassuring in your trembling hands. As you heft the hammer, testing its balance, the smaller demons begin to close in. They are a grotesque assortment of shapes and sizes, their eyes gleaming with predatory hunger. One of them lunges at you, its claws outstretched. You swing the hammer with all your might, the force of the blow crushing the demon´s skull. It collapses at your feet, its body dissolving into black smoke. Emboldened, the other demons surge forward. You stand your ground, the burning tree at your back, the war hammer a whirlwind of destruction. You smash and crush, each blow felling another demon, their numbers slowly dwindling. But for every demon you kill, two more seem to take its place. The air is thick with the stench of sulfur and decay. You know you cannot hold them off forever. The tremors intensify. Something massive is approaching. You must escape. You spot a narrow passage between two towering petrified trees, a dark and winding path leading away from the burning tree and towards the relative safety of the deeper forest. It’s a gamble, but staying here is certain death. Without hesitation, you turn and sprint into the passage, the war hammer held high, ready to strike down any demon foolish enough to follow. The smaller demons surge forward to the mouth of the pathway, but recoil, seemingly afraid to enter. The guttural roar draws ever closer from behind, as do the demonic foot steps. The path ahead lies shrouded in shadows, a labyrinth of twisted trees and treacherous terrain.
