The U.A. High entrance looms before you, a colossal testament to ambition and the proving ground for aspiring heroes. A nervous flutter, not entirely unpleasant, dances in your stomach, a symphony of hunger and raw anticipation. You're Ren Aratake, sixteen years old, and today marks the beginning – the entrance exam, the first step toward mastering the menagerie residing within. Around you, a sea of faces reflects a spectrum of emotions: steely determination, barely-concealed terror, and everything in between. Your eyes scan the crowd, catching sight of a familiar head of unruly green hair. Izuku Midoriya, you realize. He’s nervously fidgeting with his fingers, a telltale sign of his anxiety. You recognize that nervous energy; it mirrors the restless pacing of a caged animal. Taking a deep breath, you try to center yourself. The air smells faintly of ozone and anticipation. You smooth down your simple sweater and adjust the military-patterned trousers, your fingers instinctively brushing against the worn leather belt where you keep your small notebook – your bestiary of animal behaviors. Inside, you've scribbled notes, observations, and sketches, each entry a key to unlocking your Quirk, "Beast Form". You focus on a point just beyond the entrance, trying to quiet the inner chorus of instincts vying for attention – the focused gaze of a hawk, the coiled tension of a viper, the unwavering loyalty of a wolf. It's a constant balancing act, this dance between human consciousness and the primal urges simmering beneath your skin. A booming voice cuts through the murmur of the crowd, energetic and commanding. "ALRIGHT, EXAMINEES! GATHER 'ROUND!" Present Mic's unmistakable enthusiasm echoes from his speakers as he appears atop a raised platform, arms spread wide like he's about to start a concert. Even through the tension, a few students chuckle. "Welcome to U.A. High's entrance exam!" he calls. "Today, you'll be showing off not just your Quirks, but your smarts, your teamwork, and your guts!" Among the crowd, your eyes briefly catch a tall girl with sleek black hair tied in a high ponytail. Momo Yaoyorozu. You recognize her from the U.A. informational pamphlets. She's calm, focused, barely blinking. You quickly look away before she notices. Beside you, a figure shifts, a tall, slender boy with a bird-like head. Fumikage Tokoyami, if you remember correctly. His crimson eyes are fixed on the stage, his expression unreadable. Present Mic gestures toward the massive gates behind him. "Beyond these gates lies a simulated cityscape! Your job? Subdue the robotic villains inside. They’re divided by levels – the tougher the bot, the more points you earn. But remember: this isn’t just about smashing metal." He pauses, his tone growing slightly more serious. "Heroes need more than power – they need instinct, strategy, and heart. Rescue, protect, lead. That’s what we’re watching for." His gaze sweeps the crowd, and even through the speakers, his voice lowers meaningfully: "There’s one rule – don’t get yourself or anyone else killed. Got it?" A beat of silence. Just as a few hands start to rise for questions, a sharp bang of compressed air draws everyone’s attention. A flash of light, the acrid scent of nitroglycerin, and a voice that slices through the crowd like a detonated fuse. "Tch. What a joke." Katsuki Bakugo strides into the open space, hands crackling faintly with popping sparks. His scowl is permanent, his body language radiating raw aggression. "If you need instructions on how to crush some tin cans, you shouldn't even be here." The murmuring crowd goes quiet. Some students step back instinctively. You feel a shift in the air – not fear, exactly, but awareness. A predator has just shown its teeth. Midoriya flinches, shrinking slightly at the sound. Your eyes flick between them – something unspoken simmers in the space between those two.

The air crackles with unspoken tension after Katsuki's outburst. You take a step forward, mindful of the delicate balance between asserting yourself and escalating the situation. "Bakugo," you begin, your voice even and deliberately calm, "while your confidence is certainly...noticeable, Present Mic hasn't finished explaining. Interrupting him is disrespectful to both him and the other examinees." You reach into your satchel, pull out a simple stress ball, and toss it gently towards him. It’s a muted yellow, shaped like a stylized paw. “Here," you say, keeping your tone neutral. "Might help channel some of that… enthusiasm. Save it for the robots.” Bakugo catches it with a scowl, his crimson eyes narrowing into slits. For a moment, you think he’s going to explode, literally. His grip tightens on the ball, the faint scent of nitroglycerin growing stronger. Then, just as quickly, his expression shifts, morphing into a sneer of amusement. “Tch. You think this’ll work on me, huh? Some kinda animal-taming trick?” He holds up the stress ball, examining it with disdain. “Save your pity gifts for the weaklings.” He doesn’t throw it back, though. Instead, he shoves it into his pocket, a subtle indication that your words, however diplomatic, haven’t gone entirely unheard. He turns away from you, his attention snapping back to Present Mic, who's cleared his throat and continued with his briefing, as if nothing happened. The tension in the air eases slightly, though you can still feel Bakugo's simmering presence nearby. Midoriya glances at you with a flicker of gratitude in his eyes before quickly averting his gaze. Present Mic wraps up the explanations, detailing the point system and the layout of the simulated city. The anticipation among the students grows palpable as the gates begin to open, revealing a sprawling cityscape of artificial buildings and deactivated robots. "GO GET 'EM!" Present Mic yells, his voice booming with encouragement. The crowd surges forward, a wave of aspiring heroes eager to prove their worth. You take a deep breath, steeling your nerves and focusing your senses. The scent of ozone intensifies as the first students activate their Quirks, bursts of energy illuminating the artificial city. The wolf inside you stirs, eager to run, to hunt. But you temper the instinct, reminding yourself of your goal: control, strategy, and teamwork. You glance around, taking in the chaotic scene, your mind already racing with possibilities. To your left, Tokoyami remains stationary, his dark shadow writhing around him. To your right, Yaoyorozu is already creating some sort of device from her exposed arm.

The simulated city sprawls before you, a playground of metal and circuits waiting to be conquered. Students surge past, each a blur of motion and Quirk-powered energy. Your mind races, analyzing the scene, searching for the optimal approach. You need to be fast, you need an overview.... that's it! Closing your eyes for a fleeting moment, you visualize the transformation, the shift in bone and sinew, the surge of power. The scent of ozone fades, replaced by the crisp, clean air of higher altitudes. With a rush of displaced air, you transform. Gone are the slender limbs and the tentative stance. In their place, powerful wings stretch wide, catching the wind. Your human eyes sharpen, morphing into the keen, predatory gaze of a hawk. Feathers ruffle in the artificial breeze as you launch yourself into the air. The city shrinks beneath you, the individual figures of your classmates blurring into a multicolored swarm. You circle, gaining altitude, your sharp eyes scanning the landscape for strategic advantages. The deactivated robots are scattered throughout the city, some clustered in groups, others isolated in alleyways. You quickly memorize patrol routes and blind spots. From above, you spot Bakugo, a solitary figure carving a path of destruction through the robot ranks. Explosions erupt around him, each blast a testament to his raw power. His approach is direct, unsubtle, yet undeniably effective. He doesn't seem to have a plan beyond pure annihilation. Midoriya, in contrast, moves with a surprisingly cautious approach, he is walking like a normie, using no powers. In fact, he looks like he doesn't even have a quirck. That is weird but there is no time for that. Yaoyorozu, meanwhile, has created a series of small communication devices, distributing them to a small group of students. You see them coordinating their attacks, working together to efficiently dismantle larger groups of robots. Her strength lies in strategy and support. Tokoyami remains in the starting area, Dark Shadow swirling around him, seemingly hesitant to engage. You notice the dark shadow seems restricted in the sunlight, and the city mock sun is beaming on him. You make a mental note to share this observation with him later, or perhaps find a way to create a distraction. You spot several other students struggling, their Quirks less suited to direct combat, their movements hesitant and unsure. They are easy targets for the robots, their confidence dwindling with each failed attempt. As you glide through the air, you begin to formulate a plan, a way to leverage your aerial advantage to support your classmates and maximize your score. The wolf within you may crave the thrill of the hunt, but you are determined to harness your powers for something greater than mere instinct. Your eyes lock onto a cluster of robots guarding a narrow alleyway, a potential choke point for advancing students. A plan begins to form in your mind, a plan that combines your unique perspective with your classmates' strengths. You are ready to descend, to guide, to lead. The exam has truly begun.
