Luna drifts through the bustling streets of Metropolis, the towering skyscrapers a stark contrast to the drab, empty dimensions she has recently escaped. The air hums with a vibrant energy, a symphony of car horns, distant sirens, and snippets of conversations that hint at extraordinary events. It is a welcome change. She clutches her worn satchel, its contents meager but precious – a tattered map of dimensions, a handful of strange trinkets collected from her travels, and the ever-present Spectrespecs perched precariously on her nose. She quickens her pace, the city's rhythm beginning to sync with her own. It is a relief that the wish she made for a hidden apartment came true, a sanctuary unknown to the city, a place where she can feel safe. As she walks, newsstand headlines scream about the Justice League's latest exploits, clashes with Lex Luthor, and rumors of a Kryptonian menace. Luna pauses, her pale eyes scanning the bold print. Superheroes. Villains. This dimension is far from boring. It seems she has landed in the heart of a vibrant, chaotic world, far removed from the empty voids she'd grown accustomed to. A sudden surge of people spills onto the sidewalk, forcing Luna to stumble back. A bank robbery, perhaps? Or another supervillain attack? The possibilities, in this city, seem endless. Among the throng of panicked faces, Luna catches the eye of a young woman, her face streaked with tears, clutching a crumpled photograph. Their eyes lock for a fleeting moment. The woman's lips tremble, forming a silent plea. Luna recognizes it instantly – a wish waiting to be granted. Doubt gnaws at Luna. She has always been cautious about granting wishes outside of her home dimension. The rules might be different here, the consequences unpredictable. But the woman's desperation is palpable, a mirror of the countless souls she has encountered in her wanderings. Can she turn away? The weight of her power, her purpose, settles heavily on her shoulders. Luna glances around, searching for a secluded spot amidst the chaos. A narrow alleyway beckons, shrouded in shadows and overflowing with refuse. It's far from ideal, but time is of the essence. She hesitates for only a moment. With a deep breath, Luna gently takes the woman's hand, her voice soft but firm. "Tell me your wish," she says, her Spectrespecs glinting in the dim light. "But be certain of your words, for wishes, in any dimension, are not to be taken lightly."

The woman, startled but hopeful, clutches Luna’s hand tighter. Tears well in her eyes as she speaks, her voice thick with emotion. "I… I just want my brother back. He disappeared a month ago. The police say he’s probably gone for good, but I know he’s still out there." She thrusts the crumpled photograph into Luna’s hand. It shows a smiling young man with kind eyes and a mop of unruly brown hair. A wave of empathy washes over Luna. A lost brother. A desperate plea. It’s a familiar scenario, echoing countless wishes she has granted in other dimensions. But this is Metropolis, a city teeming with metahumans, alien technology, and unimaginable dangers. Bringing someone back from the unknown here could have unforeseen consequences. "Tell me everything," Luna says, her voice gentle but firm. "Every detail you remember about his disappearance. Every hope, every fear." As the woman recounts the events leading up to her brother’s vanishing, Luna listens intently, her mind racing, analyzing the context, searching for clues. The woman’s brother, David, was a budding scientist working on a mysterious project for LexCorp. He had become increasingly secretive and withdrawn in the weeks before he disappeared, muttering about breakthroughs and potential dangers. The last time she saw him, he was rushing out the door, his eyes wide with a mixture of excitement and fear, clutching a strange device wrapped in a LexCorp lab coat. Luna frowns. LexCorp. That name alone sends shivers down her spine. It is a name synonymous with ambition and ruthless experimentation. This is no ordinary missing person case. This feels like something far more complex, something that could have far-reaching implications for the entire city. She needs more information before she can even consider granting this wish. "I need to investigate," Luna says, handing the photograph back to the woman. "I can’t promise anything, but I’ll see what I can find out about your brother’s disappearance." The woman’s face falls. "Investigate? But I thought… I thought you could just grant my wish." Luna shakes her head. "Wish-granting is not a simple transaction. It requires understanding, context, and a careful consideration of the potential consequences. I need to know what I’m dealing with before I can act." The woman hesitates, her hope warring with doubt. Finally, she nods. "Okay," she says, her voice barely a whisper. "Okay. What do you need me to do?" Luna smiles reassuringly. "For now, just trust me. And be ready. This could get dangerous." As the woman walks away, her shoulders slumped with a mixture of hope and trepidation, Luna turns her gaze towards the towering LexCorp building in the distance. It looms over the city like a monument to ambition and secrecy. Her journey in this new dimension has just begun. And she has a feeling it’s going to be anything but boring.

Luna steps out of the alleyway, the city noise assaulting her senses once more. The LexCorp tower glares, a beacon of corporate power and mystery. She needs information, and she needs it fast. Her Spectrespecs provide a slight advantage, allowing her to see subtle energy fluctuations and residual magical traces, but they are no substitute for good old-fashioned detective work. She decides to start where David was last seen: LexCorp. Getting inside won't be easy, but Luna is resourceful. She recalls a news report mentioning a charity gala hosted by Lex Luthor himself, scheduled for tonight at the LexCorp tower. It is an opportunity, a chance to infiltrate the heart of the beast. She heads back to her hidden apartment, the city transforming into a blur of colors and sounds. The apartment, though small, is a haven of tranquility. Bookshelves line the walls, filled with volumes collected from countless dimensions. Strange artifacts sit on display, each with a story to tell. Luna heads to her closet, rummaging through a collection of clothes acquired from various dimensions. She needs something that screams "high society," something that will allow her to blend in with Metropolis's elite. After a moment of consideration, she selects a shimmering emerald green gown, elegant yet understated, that she bartered for in a dimension where fashion was a form of magical expression. A touch of makeup, a borrowed hairstyle from a magazine she found in a discarded bin, and Luna barely recognizes herself. She studies her reflection. The transformation is more than just superficial. It's a disguise, a mask that will allow her to navigate the treacherous waters of LexCorp. As she prepares to leave, she packs a small, unassuming clutch, its interior lined with lead to shield its contents from prying eyes. Inside, she places a few essential tools: a miniature lock-picking kit, a universal translator, and a small, intricately carved wooden box containing a single, potent wish. A wish she hopes she won't have to use. With a final glance at her reflection, Luna steps out into the Metropolis night, ready to infiltrate the LexCorp gala and unravel the mystery of David's disappearance. The city awaits, teeming with secrets and dangers. And Luna Wisher is ready to face them head-on.
