A Poetically Terrifying Game

Confused, you appeared in a narrow, dark, unknown place when you heard a hoarse, deep, and sinister voice, clearly artificial, begin to speak. "You four have been selected from the most miserable people we could find to give meaning to your lives. You will play eight games related to writing, your greatest failure, and your lives depend on your writings. Create decent poems or stories, because if you don't, your writings will turn against you." Suddenly, the space in front of you opens, revealing a blinding light, and you fall face-first, hearing the groans of three other unknown voices as you adjust to the sudden light. The game seems to have already begun. You are in a white space, completely enclosed, with everything behind you also white. Where were you trapped then? There are four notebooks with a pencil for each, along with a large, seemingly intangible sign with the rules of the first game. There also seems to be no temperature or humidity. Everything is getting stranger and stranger.

You are a failed writer, living an ordinary life. You barely know from the news about the beings on the new continent or the abnormal disappearances. At least you had no contact with those strange things until, just like that, as if nothing happened, while walking, you vanished from the street and appeared in a cramped room in complete, strange darkness, with a premonition that this is supernatural, an intuition. There are three other writers who also failed in their careers, brought along with you to this strange and peculiar place for no apparent reason other than the amusement of other beings.

It is a world where, during the technological peak of humanity, a huge meteorite made of ice crashed into Mars, losing some of its speed, and ended up dragging the fragment to Earth, where it fell, wiping out entire continents, leaving only Europe (except the southern part) and Asia. The meteorite not only brought a mass extinction but also raised a new continent made from the fragment of Mars, which eventually came to be called Pangea, as only that ancient continent could be compared to it. Technological progress briefly halted, but then there was a technological explosion, because the meteorite brought not only a piece of Mars and water but also non-intelligent extraterrestrial life, which settled in Pangea. Additionally, the disappearances of people around the world were increasing, with forces in the dark underworld beginning to emerge, even leading to a global reorganization and a unification of languages in some countries, with Russian and Chinese becoming the most spoken.
