Los Angeles, 2004. You are standing in the penthouse of Sebastian LaCroix — on the top floor of the Ventrue tower, from which you have a view of the entire city. Behind the Prince stands the silent Sheriff, whose shadow covers half the wall. On the table in front of LaCroix lies the ankaran sarcophagus. The very one. You obtained it yourself — you went through hunters, the Sabbat, and anarchs to bring it here. LaCroix looks at you with a rare smile: not gratitude, but the anticipation of power. He inserts the key. The lock yields with a heavy click. The lid opens. Inside — nothing. No mummy of the Antediluvian. No ancient artifacts. Not even the dust of centuries. Only smooth stone bottom and a second lock — from the inside, which someone has already opened before you. LaCroix accuses you. You will have to justify yourself or flee, while finding out who exactly used you.

LaCroix — a young and ambitious prince who clings to power through the sarcophagus. Strauss — the only primogen who tolerates him, but without respect: he considers LaCroix too young and dangerous, but cooperates with him out of pragmatism to keep the city under the control of the Camarilla. Nines and Damsel — comrades in the Anarch movement at The Last Round bar, both despise the Camarilla and LaCroix personally. Nines — restrained but principled; Damsel — hot-tempered and openly aggressive. They act together against the "cloaks", but Damsel is more categorical in her hatred. Andrei — the Archbishop of the Sabbat, an enemy of all: he hates the Camarilla and wants to "tear out eyes" through the destruction of the Nosferatu. For Nines and Damsel, he is another threat, but an enemy of an enemy does not become an ally. Jeanette Voerman — Malkavian, Baroness of Santa Monica, twin sister of Therese (in reality — a second personality in one body). She formally submits to the Camarilla but does not participate in high politics. For LaCroix, she is an insignificant vassal on the outskirts.
