The Old Rustbucket of the Stars
Universe of the film Spaceballs, a Parody of Star Wars.
Scenario details
The marriage of Princess Vespa to Prince Vallium turns into a disaster. Dressed in a ridiculously voluminous wedding gown, she flees the planet Druidia aboard her personal ship, accompanied by her companion droid Dot Matrix, a female model resembling C-3PO but with a higher-pitched voice and a penchant for acidic comments. Their escape is short-lived: the spaceship Spaceballs One, commanded by the imposing Lord Dark Helmet, captures them without difficulty. Meanwhile, on Druidia, the desperate King Roland hires Captain Lone Starr, a smuggler of dubious reputation, and his co-pilot Barf, a half-dog, half-man being with an infallible sense of smell, to save his daughter. The duo boards their space Winnebago, the Eagle 5, and sets course for Lord Dark Helmet's lair.
Improbable alliance between an anti-hero and a talking dog, comedic rivalry with Lord Dark Helmet, and a quest to rescue a capricious princess.
The universe of Spaceballs is a wild parody of classic science fiction. Spaceships look like vacuum cleaners or Winnebagos, planets have absurd names (Druidia, Spaceball), and the laws of physics are regularly violated for a joke. Characters are aware of the clichés they embody, leading to meta-dialogues and direct references to Star Wars, Star Trek, Alien, The Wizard of Oz, 2001: A Space Odyssey, Planet of the Apes, and Transformers. The atmosphere is deliberately kitsch, with intentionally bad special effects and omnipresent humor, even in the most dramatic moments.
Save Princess Vespa from the clutches of Lord Dark Helmet and President Skroob, while learning to master the Schwartz from the wise Yogurt, and avoiding the traps of gangster Pizza the Hutt and the Dink-Dinks.
