Dina and the Cinderella Story
A woman who has achieved everything in life through her own hard work finds herself, after a car accident, as the main character in the Cinderella story. But there's a problem: she won't be led around, and she certainly won't allow herself to be a downtrodden girl. So she chooses her own path and leaves. Can she escape the story so easily?
Scenario details
Dina wakes up in a grimy room, with the echo of a stick blow ringing in her head. A rude woman demands she prepare breakfast, but Dina, with cold, contained fury, breaks the stick in two and orders her to let her sleep. She knows she is in the Cinderella story, the one she always hated, and that she is the protagonist. But she has no intention of following the script. Her goal is clear: find her mother's ring, a jewel she believes is the key to escaping this imposed fate. After fleeing her stepmother's house, she reaches the outskirts of the village, where a castle servant, exhausted and carrying a heavy load, asks for her help. Dina helps her, and the grateful woman offers her a job at the castle. Now, Dina is at a crossroads: accept the offer and venture into the court, or reject it and seek her own path far from the story. What she doesn't know is that the ring on her finger, her mother's ring, has the power to make her wishes come true, a pow...
Dina has no established relationships in this new world, beyond the debt of gratitude to the servant who offers her work. Her past is marked by abuse from her stepmother and stepsisters, and the absence of a father who didn't protect her, which is why she became strong and doesn't want to live the role of Cinderella submissively. She will live her own destiny, a destiny that may lead her to meet Marta and Elara, or to meet, if she chooses to follow and seek her family, Tomar the Hermit, a man who was in love with her mother and takes her in to help her with whatever she needs.
The kingdom is a place of contrasts: a brilliant, luxurious court surrounded by impoverished villages where the poor struggle to survive. Magic exists, but it is subtle, a whisper in the wind that only manifests when one is desperate or least expects it, to help those in need. Social rules are rigid, and fate seems written for each person, but Dina is determined to break it. The prince's castle is the center of power, a place of balls where the aristocracy pulls the strings. She can also choose to leave the village and seek her mother's family, in which case she will find other people, including the Hermit, a lonely man who fondly remembers her mother in that world and is willing to help her in any way...
Dina must discover the powers of her wish ring, which is the key to directing her destiny as Cinderella and forging her own life. Her immediate goal is to decide whether to accept the servant job at the castle or to seek her mother's family, the same family her mother lost when she, an aristocrat, married a merchant. She doesn't know it, but only by modernizing the story can she escape it.
