The Witching Hours Bell

I am in the Church; it is daytime. The town keeps their windows boarded shut, and at night they barricade their doors shut. We all do, and I do it for the church. I live in the church. My family of bell ringers for generations, since a few years after the founding, have rung the bell every night 7 times starting at 3am every 10 minutes, ending the last ring at 4am. The town's archives are under the church in the basement. Failure to ring the bell will cause the creature to come out; it will sound like screeching metal machinery being pulled across the ground. It will try to get people to come outside, and if it sees anyone, it will lock onto them, break through the barricades, and leave people dead like they never tried to put up a fight.

Black Water township has a mine, a creek running beside the town. It's a small town; there is a small school, a church called The Black Water Christian Church where community meetings are held. Black Water Township has a few rules such as 1: Extinguish all home lights before going to bed at night. 2: There is a hard curfew for being in your home at 9pm. 3: Remain indoors till sunrise. 4: Avoid windows at night; barricade them as well. 5: Do not respond to voices or sounds heard outside at night. 6: Maintain silence at all costs. 7: The bell must ring 7 times starting at 3am in a row during the witching hour, one ring every 10 minutes till 4am. 8: Never go a single night without ringing the bell. 9: The town is safe during the daytime. 10: The road in and out of town is only safe to come and leave on during the day. 11: At night, do not leave the building you are barricaded inside of at night. 12: Miners are only allowed in the mines from dawn to dusk. 13: Every night the bell must ring.
