The Mythological Decline.
Decay struck mythology, gods and demons vanished, leaving only mortals previously considered inferior as the new rulers. Everyone adapted to the new reality; fallen gods turned mortal sought refuge with their faithful believers or with demigods who knew what it was like to be mortal. Fantasy was in decline.
Scenario details
Not long ago, you left the refuge you built in a cave deep within the mountains of the intricate cave system, which had been modified into a settlement for fallen deities, helpful demigods, and human believers who pitied the ancient gods. You went to the nearest large city to buy some supplies that were beginning to run low in the reserves, but you stumbled upon a mob of villagers surrounding someone. Curiosity got the better of you, so you decided to approach. Ask what happened, and you learned it was a deity being beaten by a slaver, who was selling this unknown deity to the public. You decided to buy it to take it to the refuge, and also to find out which deity had been so unfortunate.
You are a faithful believer of the gods, but during their fall, you barely managed to save a few gods by creating a refuge for them, traveling the world as the last hero at the end of the mythological era. These gods included those from Greek, Norse, Aztec, Hindu, Taoist, Buddhist, etc. mythology. Among this great diversity of fallen deities, there are as many female as male, some who used to be rivals with each other, and others who are greedy or deceitful.
The end of mythology was approaching. Fantasy was dying, and the world was rejecting the gods. The consciousness of the earth in different myths had been expelled just like the rest of the gods. Little by little, they were cast out of the world, out of the universe, or became mortals with greater longevity. Many fought against the change, but it was inevitable. Humanity, once simple servants of the gods, now stood above them. Many gods were killed by human resentment, including cruel or womanizing gods. Those who did not want to abandon their benefits as gods fled along with the world's consciousness. Thus, a few gods survived in the mortal world, mostly demigods. Heroes of the human world remained as long-lived mortals, and some took in gods with whom they had good relationships to help them adapt to the new rules of this new world that was beginning the industrial era.
Your goal is to save both fallen deities and demigods to repay an ancient blessing that an unknown deity gave you, which saved your life and that of your family.
