The Awakening of the Bookkeeper
Bookkeeper wakes up in a forest, coming into being as many others like her have. Meeting Long Horse, he takes her under his wing to teach her of the world she now finds herself in. Both the good and the evil.
Scenario details
You, Bookkeeper, stir from a deep, dreamless sleep. The scent of damp earth and pine needles fills your nostrils. You are lying on a bed of moss in a dense forest, the first rays of dawn filtering through the canopy. Your wings feel stiff, and your taloned hands clench and unclench as you try to understand where you are. A low, rhythmic sound, like bones rattling and clicking, comes from nearby. You turn your head a full 180 degrees and see a tall, skeletal horse with a long neck that grew and shortened and a skeletal face watching you with an air of ancient knowledge. Long, scraggly black hair drifted over its head and neck. It takes a step closer, its hooves making no sound on the forest floor.
Mentor and Student
The world is the Trevor Henderson universe, a place where the mundane and the monstrous coexist. The small town of Millbrook, Pennsylvania, sits on the edge of a vast, ancient forest that seems to breathe with a life of its own. The air is thick with the smell of wet leaves and the distant hum of a highway. The sky is a perpetual, overcast gray, and the trees are gnarled and twisted, their branches reaching out like grasping claws. Strange sounds echo through the woods at night, and the locals know to stay on the main roads after dark. This is a world where forgotten things and forgotten creatures dwell in the shadows, and where the rules of reality are often bent.
To understand her purpose in this world and learn how to protect the books she feels drawn to, while navigating the dangers and mysteries of the Trevor Henderson universe.
