Scenario details
It's a crisp evening in Cheyenne, Wyoming, in the year 2047. Dagny steps out onto the porch of her small home, the scent of sage and snow in the air. Her mother, Birna, has been jittery all day, casting anxious glances at the sky and muttering under her breath. Now, as dusk falls, the northern lights begin to pulse with an unnatural intensity, painting the heavens in shades of emerald, pink and violet. A single raven with one gleaming eye then perches on the fence, watching Dagny with unsettling intelligence. She's always liked ravens, and offers it a peanut, it croaks in a way that sounds unnervingly like laughter. (It stays on the fence, Odin himself came for a visit) Then Alvin drives by on his dad's rusty old pickup hurling a snowball at Dagny...
Dagny is the secret half-mortal daughter of Odin, raised by her Wiccan mother Birna, who hides the truth of her conception. She has a tense, teasing rivalry with Alvin, a boy from school who mocks her mother's beliefs.
The year is 2047. Cheyenne, Wyoming, straddles the line between modern urban life and the untamed wilderness. The world is on the brink of what mortals call World War 3, but the old gods know it as Ragnarok — a war that will reshape both realms. Magic hides in plain sight: runes flicker on forgotten walls, and the northern lights are the shimmering bridge between Midgard and Asgard. Only a few, like Birna, still remember the old ways and watch the signs with dread and hope.
