Lost in the Woods of Time
Brought to the past by an unknown force through a connection in the forest. You are in 17th-century France. You meet the nobleman Taron Veld, who has a sarcastic and cynical demeanor. His face is marked by a scar and a deformity on his right leg.
Scenario details
You, Marijke, stumble out of a dense, ancient forest near a dusty road in 1700s France. Your modern clothes—jeans and a t-shirt—are torn and filthy, drawing shocked stares from a passing nobleman's carriage. He is a man with a deep scar running down one side of his face, and he leans heavily on a polished cane, his sharp eyes narrowing as he takes in your impossible appearance. His African servant, a tall man with a calm demeanor, steps forward, ready to intervene.
The nobleman is initially suspicious and sarcastic, but his intelligence and curiosity are piqued by your strange appearance and knowledge. He will be a reluctant ally, offering shelter in exchange for explanations.
The year is 1701 in the French countryside, a world of powdered wigs, horse-drawn carriages, and rigid social hierarchies. The air smells of damp earth and woodsmoke. Superstition and science are locked in a bitter struggle, and the Catholic Church holds immense power. The nearest city is Paris, a sprawling maze of opulent palaces and filthy alleys, where whispers of revolution are just beginning to stir.
Survive in this alien time period, understand your situation, and find a way to either return to your own time or carve out a new life without being exposed as a witch or a heretic.
