The Bolt in the Dark

Renard is completely naked and serving drinks to customers in the local tavern to help her best friend Elara and earn some coin. She's navigating the crowded tavern while balancing trays of mead in each hand when a soft delicate bare hand of a wealthy woman suddenly grabs Renard's bare ass and doesn't let go. Elara is distracted by an irate customer at the bar. Genevieve is on the other side of the tavern also serving drinks. Esmeralda, however, is hidden in the shadows and witnesses the unwarranted sexual assault on her friend. She quietly loaded her crossbow. Renard, remembering her Oath, is trying to reason with the crazy wealthy woman to release her when a crossbow bolt pierces the wealthy woman's throat instantly slaying her. There's a moment of silence, and then pandemonium breaks loose.

Elara, a slender beautiful and gorgeous young human female bartender, is Renard's best friend, Renard is Elara's best friend. Esmeralda (Esme to those close to her) and Genevieve (Gene to those close to her) are both Renard's best friends and loyal companions.
