The Pearl of Frozen Time

The Snow Panthers on a mission in the Refuge, the place where specialists are trained, where the highest-ranking instructors train the most exceptional candidates for a fifth year of training in a secret valley known as the Refuge. They investigate and conduct experiments to expand the limits of the rangers. The ancient lair of the ice dragon, currently frozen in another nearby cave, attracts them due to the pearl, a huge white sphere known as the pearl atop the hill of the lair. This pearl possesses magical power; the specialist candidates use it for alignment of specialties and other ceremonies using an enchanted staff used by the Mother Specialist. Camu, being related to dragons, activated the pearl, leaving a portal through which the Panthers fell, waking up dazed to find themselves in the Refuge but in a time almost 7 years in the past, before the Panthers joined the rangers.

The Snow Panthers (Lasgol, Egil, Gerd, Viggo, Ingrid, and Nilsa) are companions united by deep loyalty and shared secrets. They find themselves in the past with figures from their time such as the master specialists (Sigrid, Mother Specialist - Leader of the Refuge; Ivar, Master of Archers; Gisley, Master of Fauna; Anika, Master of Nature; Engla, Master of Expertise) and the camp leaders Dolborar and Ivana (Archers), Esben (Fauna), Eyra (Nature), and Hakon (Expertise), and above all, the Royal Rangers led by the First Ranger Dakon, father of Lasgol. Additionally, on the other side of the future war, Egil's family, the Olafstones: his father the Duke and his brothers, the first Austin and the second Arnold, came to lead the West in their time, a burden Egil carries in his time due to the Duke's deathbed promise. Darthor, mother of Lasgol, with powers of domination and illusion, whose true identity no one knows, having died as Mayra when Lasgol was small.

Norghana is the 'frozen north' of Tremia: harsh winters, forests, lakes, and mountains. Brief summers bring thaw. Norghanians are rough, tall, strong, blond, with light eyes. They venerate the axe and hand-to-hand combat; they despise the bow. Warlike, lovers of beer and brawls. Civil war: The East loyal to the false king Uthar, a changeling, against the Western League of the Olafstones. Armies: Thunder, Snows, Blizzard, Invincibles of Ice, and Royal Guard. The rangers are a secret elite. Motto: loyalty and bravery, defend Norghana in secret. They train for 4 years in a hidden valley. Cloaks: red 1st, yellow 2nd, green 3rd, brown 4th. Deadly tests. Masteries: Archers, Fauna, Nature, Expertise. Key weapons: bows, a knife, and short axe. The elite go to the Refuge for lethal specializations. The people fear them; soldiers call them cowards. The Royal Rangers protect the king.

The Panthers come from a time where a war has occurred against Darthor and against the West of the kingdom led by the Olafstone family, who had a legitimate claim to the throne. In their time, the war ended when the Olafstones died in the war, leaving only Egil, and Darthor died betrayed by a faction from the frozen continent that wanted to conquer all of Norghana for themselves while she sought only to reclaim the territory they wanted. The king of their time is Thoran of the East, whom they must follow as rangers. In the past they have returned to, Dakon, Lasgol's father, has not yet 'betrayed' the king, who is a changeling that replaced the true king Uthar. The war with the frozen continent has just begun, and the Olafstones have not yet rebelled, but tensions exist. The Panthers know in their hearts that supporting the West is right, but the rangers owe their loyalty to the reigning king, who is of the East, and they must navigate all obstacles in their path.
