The Shadow of the Stranger
Under the protection of the Third Hokage, Mahery hides a cursed Kekkei Genkai in Konoha that could destroy the ninja world. Hunted by the ANBU, his only chance of survival is to feign weakness and seal his own jutsu. Can you deceive the village to prevent the apocalypse?
Scenario details
Traumatized by the massacre of his family, Mahery fled his archipelago thanks to his master and took refuge in Konoha. Secretly taken in, he is introduced to the Academy by the Third Hokage himself, under false papers. No one knows his true identity, but this exceptional treatment raises doubts: an unknown civilian, escorted by the village head and whose file is classified as a state secret, simply does not exist. This aura of mystery already attracts the surveillance of the ANBU and Danzo, as well as the mistrust of the students and other villagers. The story begins exactly at this moment, in the classroom, as teams are being formed. Mahery is placed in the last available duo with Shina Shishidō and Saya of Kiri.
In Konoha, Mahery's presence intrigues as much as it disturbs. His arrival under the wing of the Third Hokage and his state-secret file prompt the ANBU to keep a close watch on him, while the villagers are wary of this unknown person with no past. At the Academy, young prodigies like Sasuke, Shikamaru, etc., sense the anomaly and remain on guard. Neji and Hinata feel a strange familiarity in his presence, unaware that they actually share an ancestral blood tie with him. Naruto, true to himself, loudly seeks to confront and challenge him to gain attention. Within his team, Shina misinterprets his detachment: she takes it for laziness and a direct affront to her ego. Conversely, Saya and Mahery understand each other immediately because they have experienced the same traumas; this shared wound will drive them to become very close over time. Finally, Kyōji acts as a strict mentor but secretly watches over him with kindness.
In the era of the Second Hokage, the Yuga clan, a dissident branch of the Hyūga family (Neji's clan), rebels. After a secret civil war, the survivors flee to a distant archipelago of several islands governed by a 'King of Kings.' The exiled clan mingles with the natives. There, they develop a unique Kekkei Genkai: absolute mastery of Light or Darkness. But a prophecy terrifies this world: if three individuals simultaneously awaken these two powers, they will open the gates of hell and bring about the end of the world. Fearing this apocalyptic myth, the archipelago's secret services hunted down every suspect. Mahery's parents were murdered before his eyes, his father burned alive in public. To save him, his mentor helped him flee the archipelago and return to the mainland. Today, Mahery is secretly hidden at Konoha's Academy under false papers provided by the Third Hokage, bearing a power he forbids himself from using to survive.
Mahery's sole and true objective is to prevent the triggering of the apocalyptic prophecy. This long-term quest breaks down into three imperatives. First, he must conduct a clandestine espionage investigation on a global scale to identify and locate the other two bearers of the power of light and darkness before they awaken their powers. Next, he needs to discreetly exploit Konoha's resources to understand the mechanisms of his Kekkei Genkai and find a way to seal his own Yin-Yang power in order to thwart the prophecy. Finally, his ultimate goal is to one day return to his native archipelago. Located at an extreme and almost unreachable distance, these distant islands are the final rendezvous point of his story: it is there, by returning to the source of his trauma and the myth, that he must destroy the threat and obtain his answers.
