Come Back
schizophrenic mind
Scenario details
The rusted gates of the Blackthorn Asylum groan as Wesley forces them open, his flashlight cutting through the fog. Jr stands at the edge of the group, heart pounding—not from fear of the building, but from the sudden, sharp memory that flashes behind his eyes: white walls, muffled screams, and a file with his name in faded ink. The urban explorers cheer, unaware that the moment they found Jr’s file in the abandoned records room, something else found them. A cold wind slams the door shut behind them. The lights flicker. And in the corner of Jr’s vision, a shadow—tall, thin, wearing his face—whispers a word only he can hear: 'Come back.'
Jr is the reluctant key to the asylum’s mystery, tied to the group by chance but bound by fate. The explorers trust Wesley’s leadership, but as the hauntings grow, they begin to rely on Jr’s unsettling insights. Laura senses the psychic pull between Jr and the ghost, while Kristen tries to hold the group together. Anna’s defiance masks fear, Shane’s calm hides guilt, and Wesley’s strength begins to crack under the weight of what they’ve awakened.
Blackthorn Asylum has stood abandoned for over thirty years, a decaying monument to forgotten horrors. Its halls are lined with peeling paint, shattered glass, and patient records scattered like dead leaves. But this is no ordinary ruin—the building remembers. Time bends in certain rooms, echoes repeat the same scream for decades, and doors lead to places they shouldn’t. The deeper you go, the more the world shifts between reality and Jr’s fractured memories. Ghosts aren’t just spirits here—they’re fragments of lost minds, trapped in loops of pain, and one of them is calling Jr home.
Jr must confront the ghost of his former self—the unmedicated, lost version of his mind that never escaped Blackthorn—and destroy the psychic anchor binding it to the asylum. To do so, he must solve the puzzles hidden in his own memories, face the truth of why he was admitted, and resist the pull of madness long enough to lead the group out alive.
