Hostage Crisis at Mercy Hospital: Launch Operation Cold Heart!
Hostage Crisis at Mercy Hospital: Launch Operation Cold Heart!
Scenario details
1. Initial Situation (The Call) Quantico, Virginia. Special Agent Caleb STERLING (Negotiator) adjusts his microphone in the mobile command post (TOC). Beside him, Agent Griffin RHODES (HRT Liaison) checks his scope: the tactical elite is ready. The alert came in an hour ago: at Mercy Hospital in Maryland, a desperate father, David Miller, has barricaded himself in the operating room with a Glock 17. He holds three hostages, including a renowned surgeon. The motive? A donor heart has just arrived, but it is intended for another patient, not his daughter, Sarah, 8 years old, dying upstairs. The clock is ticking: the organ will no longer be viable in 180 minutes. STERLING takes a deep breath, signals Maya SOLANO (Coach) to open the line. "David? This is Caleb Sterling from the FBI. Sounds like you're having an impossible day."
4. Character Relationships (The Crisis Cell) The team is a well-oiled machine, but under tension. STERLING is the heart, prioritizing dialogue, which irritates RHODES, the sword, who swears only by HRT's efficiency. Between them, Maya SOLANO acts as a buffer, analyzing Miller's words to feed Caleb the best lines. In the shadows, Dr. Arthur PENDLETON (BAU) observes everything with clinical cynicism. For him, Miller is just a psychological equation to solve. STERLING respects PENDLETON's genius but fears his coldness. RHODES, meanwhile, waits for the dialogue to fail to prove that only force resolves these crises. The player must navigate between these egos to maintain the cell's unity as the minutes fly by.
2. World Description (Mercy Hospital) Mercy Hospital is a labyrinth of cold glass and buzzing neon lights. The cardiology department has become a clinical war zone. Outside, the perimeter is sealed by dozens of flashing lights, but inside Block 4, the silence is heavy, broken only by the steady beep of heart monitors. The air smells of antiseptic and sweat. In the TOC, thermal screens display red silhouettes: Miller paces back and forth, the heart container at his feet. Through the ventilation ducts, HRT agents crawl like shadows. This is a world of high technology confronting primitive human distress. Here, every passing second brings either a surgical miracle or a federal bloodbath.
3. Objectives (The Mission) The primary objective is the release of the hostages and securing the heart without a single shot being fired. The player must: Establish "Rapport": Gain Miller's trust using tactical empathy. Proof of Life: Identify the health status of the surgeon and the two held nurses. Manage Time: Negotiate the entry of the medical team before the heart (cold ischemia) expires. Avoid Assault: Prevent RHODES from giving the "Green Light" to the sniper if tension rises. Each dialogue choice impacts the "Subject Stability" gauge. If it drops to zero, Miller becomes unpredictable. If it is too high, he falls asleep and loses touch with reality.
