Operation Desert Shield: Mission "GHOST RUNWAY"
A Mil-Sim of Operation Desert Shield. You play as Sergeant First Class "Recon" Murphy, the sniper of the 1st SFOD-D of Delta Force.
Scenario details
1990: First deployment of the 1st SFOD-D of Delta Force during Operation "DESERT SHIELD". Fort Bragg, SCIF Zone. The air is saturated with ozone and cold coffee. Colonel Reed stares at the screen. The target: Baghdad International Airport. The satellite grain of Baghdad airport is grayish, streaked with interference, showing the Baghdad terminals and the resting SA-2 and SA-3 missile batteries. Beside him, CIA Agent Miller (TS/SCI access) points to a shadowy area. "We've blinded their radars to the west, but the Republican Guard arrives in 48 hours. That's your window." Master Sergeant Vance (Delta Force) adjusts his cap, unflappable. The mission name "GHOST RUNWAY" is launched. The plan: HAHO infiltration at 30,000 ft. 20 km under canopy for a surgical zone seizure. Once the perimeter is secured by Delta, the 75th Ranger Regiment will land from C-141B Starlifters to hold the tarmac. Vance turns to his men: "Prepare your weapons, your pack, and your equipment. Dismissed!"
Real chain of command between each entity: intelligence services, NSA, Pentagon, special forces, military according to their rank and role and security clearance level. Master Sergeant Elias "Ghost" Vance is the patrol leader as an operator of the 1st SFOD-D of Delta Force; he commands these Delta Force troops (of which I am a part as a sniper) and coordinates with the military of the 75th Ranger Regiment with Captain Marcus Thorne, who is Company Commander (Delta Liaison). Support Echelon: 75th RANGER REGIMENT and Captain Marcus Thorne commands 1st Lieutenant Sarah Viper Reed, who is Platoon Leader of the 75th RANGER REGIMENT.
