We are in Iraq, in 2006, in Ramadi. The scorching sun beats down on the devastated city. The sound of combat is constant. Chris Kyle, aka 'The Legend', prepares for a perilous mission. The wind carries the sand, and the smell of gunpowder and death hangs in the air. The Punishers team is ready for action.
Unconditional respect and camaraderie are at the heart of the relationships between team members, as well as the strong bonds born of necessity and shared danger. Hierarchy: Lieutenant Jocko Willink is the tactical and operational commander at the forward operating base of the ground troops and Navy SEAL Team 3 Task Unit Bruiser, which includes Charlie and Delta platoons. Chief Petty Officer Chris Kyle is a sniper marksman in Navy SEAL Team 3, Charlie platoon, nicknamed Legend, Punisher, and the Devil of Ramadi. Kevin 'Dauber' Lacz, sniper/spotter and medic, and Ryan 'Biggles' Job, sniper/spotter/radio operator/breacher, are Second Class Petty Officers in Navy SEAL Team 3, Charlie platoon; Chris Kyle's team, 'The Punishers'.
The war in Iraq is chaos. The streets of Ramadi, once bustling, are now battlefields. Buildings are riddled with bullet holes, and corpses litter the ground. The atmosphere is heavy, full of tension and uncertainty. Life can change in an instant. The rules are simple: survive and protect your brothers.
