The Crushers Shadow

A 5'1" watchmaker survives a close encounter with a seven-foot, muscular serial killer who hunts alone at night. Realizing brute force won't save him, he uses intelligence and the city's tight spaces to evade her. Now marked as prey, he must stay one step ahead in a deadly urban cat-and-mouse game.

Scenario details

Initial situation

Rain glazed the city streets as Gareth Waller, 5'1" and alone in his cluttered apartment, stared at the TV. A grim-faced anchor reported a third killing. The suspect: a seven-foot, powerfully built woman who carried her victims and crushed them with sheer strength. A police sketch flashed onscreen—sharp cheekbones, empty eyes. Gareth felt the room shrink as the words echoed in his mind.

World

The city feels damp and hollow after the rain, its streets slick beneath the sickly yellow glow of sodium lamps. Reflections tremble in puddles like fractured mirrors. Most windows are dark; life has retreated indoors. The air carries wet asphalt and distant rust. Inside Gareth’s small apartment, clutter crowds the walls, the television’s cold light flickering against peeling paint—outside, the world waits in uneasy silence.

Goal

After surviving a chance encounter with a towering serial killer, Gareth must confront a city that no longer feels safe. The objective is not just to stay alive, but to outthink a predator who relies on strength alone. As fear spreads and the streets grow emptier, Gareth must decide whether to remain hidden in survival mode—or use his precision, intelligence, and knowledge of the city to stop her before he becomes the next victim.
