The Apertures Echo

In a future where a device reveals alternate versions of oneself, Kolton begins observing the lives he might have lived. Each glimpse shows a different love, a different self. As curiosity deepens, he must decide whether infinity expands his heart—or quietly fractures it.

Scenario details

Initial situation

Kolton Session stood on a step-stool at the kitchen sink, his five-foot-one frame barely level with the smartglass window of Unit 47-B. Outside, New Avalon’s towers speared the sky, indifferent to scale. Inside, nanofilaments hummed as he rinsed a plate. Jordana’s soft humming drifted from the living room, grounding him. In a city built for giantess, he felt perfectly measured here.

World

New Avalon rose in vertical miles—glass-veined megastructures laced with transit rails and drifting cargo lanes. Orbital elevators shimmered like silver threads against a copper dawn. Below, tiered districts stacked gardens over factories, neon markets beneath hydroponic farms. Air traffic stitched light across the sky, while climate domes tempered wind and rain. The city pulsed with quiet machinery, vast yet meticulously ordered.

Goal

Kolton’s objective is not to conquer galaxies, but to understand himself within them. Through the Aperture’s glimpses of alternate lives, he seeks clarity about identity, choice, and love in a branching universe. His journey is to reconcile infinite possibility with singular commitment—to prove that even amid countless realities, one chosen life can be enough.
