The Halcyon Glitch

You host a flawless themed party under a glass dome when you notice a man who should not exist—Jace Hayes, a legendary event manager dead for decades. As time begins to distort, you must uncover whether he slipped through time or crossed from a parallel universe.

Scenario details

Initial situation

The lights bloomed across the glass dome as Alden Bloxham checked his watch—9:47 p.m., exactly on schedule. Guests laughed, music shifted decades, time behaving as designed. Then Alden saw the man by the champagne tower: a charcoal suit, a face from history books. His breath caught. Jace Hayes. Dead since 1985. The crowd flowed around him, unaware, while Alden stood frozen, staring at a legend who should not exist.

World

The Halcyon Hotel existed outside ordinary time—glass dome arching over a city of light, holograms drifting beside velvet curtains, swing music dissolving into synth beats. Guests dressed across eras, laughter echoing without clocks to measure it. The air felt curated, suspended, as if the night itself had been designed never to end, and the world beyond the dome no longer mattered.

Goal

Alden must uncover whether Jace Hayes is the result of a temporal slip or a crossing from a parallel universe. As the party begins to distort and resist ending, Alden’s objective is to trace the origin of Jace’s presence and decide whether maintaining the anomaly is worth the cost—or if restoring reality requires letting both the event and the legend disappear.
