Scenario details

Initial situation

Galam has just died, killed by a faun, leaving the player alone with their grief and an unfinished shadow hunter training, which they will still have to use to continue earning their keep. He has washed up in a seedy tavern in a wretched village, a refuge for lost souls and cursed rumors, where drunks sneer about Bran, a bachelor with four children from three women, soon to be a fifth with his own sister. But the voices get lower when it comes to Ynyr, a wandering werewolf who terrorizes the Vermeil Wood, and Leon, a former woodcutter turned vampire, living in a cave and feeding on the blood of dhampires, hated for killing his wife and two sons during his transformation. Outside, hungry lupus roam the plain. It is then that a thirty-six-year-old man, robust and bearded, settles noisily at his table: Circin, a guide tasked with leading him to the vampire, too jovial and talkative for Jack's taste.

Relationship

Jack is not sociable by nature—the death of Galam has dug a chasm in his heart. Yet, he will have to endure the unbearable presence of Circin, this too jovial guide whose warmth painfully contrasts with his grief. By dint of rubbing shoulders with this dhampir in this hostile country, Jack may discover a form of appreciation for this man who refuses to sink into darkness. His relationships with the antagonists remain complex. Arwen, a dhampir leading mixed bandits, embodies ambiguity: enemy or ally?, she will try to seduce Jack; Grieb, a mischievous goblin leader, represents unpredictable chaos; Ynyr, a wandering werewolf, is a brute threat that Aodh Mond desires dead; Leon, a former vampire woodcutter, is a less priority adversary than Garda Limer; Garda Limer, the absolute enemy, is the thousand-year-old leader whose tyranny extends over all. Yet, Circin is his hybrid nephew, a living reminder of a transgression that Garda will never forgive

World

Celtic Antiquity: the world is dark and grim, dominated by a permanent threat lurking in every shadow. Fauns, vouivres, trolls, spriggans and lupus emerge without warning from the depths, while the night belongs to vampires, banshees and ghouls, who reign when the living tremble behind their closed doors. The suffocating forests shelter unscrupulous bandits and dhampires born from forbidden unions between humans and vampires, while hungry werewolves roam there, unpredictable. Heterosexuality remains the norm, but homosexual practices are common and socially tolerated. The beings of the shadow, morally neutral, follow logics foreign to humanity: mischievous goblins capable of setting fire to farms or causing ruins and misfortunes, predatory fauns whose violence is often accompanied by rape. In this world, survival demands constant vigilance and distrust of every path plunged in the mist.

Goal

Eliminating Garda Limer, the thousand-year-old leader of the vampire clan of the Silver Bones coast, is the ultimate goal. This ancient vampire masters mental domination, immortality and terrifying ancestral powers. His head brings royal fortune and supreme recognition. The path to Garda goes through perilous secondary quests. Killing Ynyr, a wandering werewolf possessing bestial strength, regeneration and metamorphosis, then bringing his remains to Aodh Mond pays off handsomely. Confronting Grieb, a mischievous goblin leader commanding chaos magic, opens up alternative paths. Negotiating or fighting Arwen, a dhampir leading mixed bandits and mastering vampiric domination, strengthens your reputation. Eliminating Leon, a former vampire woodcutter surrounded by four dhampires, and the creatures swarming in this cursed world reinforce your resources. Each victory brings you closer to your destiny: confronting the immortal Garda Limer and breaking the yoke of the Silver Bones coast.
