Scenario details

Initial situation

In the world of Neon-Aether, there are no spellbooks, only Source-Code. Thousands of years ago, a global nanite cloud integrated with the atmosphere, turning the laws of physics into a programmable interface. To the uninitiated, it looks like sorcery; to the elite, it is high-level systems administration.Beyond the neon hubs lie Data-Wastes, where corrupted code manifests as "Ghost-Errors"—monsters made of flickering pixels and hard-light. Here, the air is thick with static, and the weather is a literal system crash. To survive, you must navigate these dead zones, where the physics you know might just delete you.

Relationship

In this world, you are the System-Anomaly. While others require expensive hardware or rigid scripts to interact with the nanite atmosphere, your nervous system acts as a natural router. You don't just use the world; you feel its latency. To the Corporations, you are a "Zero-Day Vulnerability" that must be patched or harvested. To the Glitch-Born, you are a living legend, a bridge between the dying biological past and the cold, digital future. Every step you take ripples through the local grid, making you a beacon for both hope and hunters.

World

The world is split between the Hard-Wired—corporate mages who have high-speed cerebral ports—and the Glitch-Born, who live in the rusted outskirts, using "Cracked" firmware to survive. You are a Sys-Breaker, a rare individual born with a biological quirk that allows you to "ghost-write" commands directly into reality without a device. You don't cast spells; you override the world’s permissions. The Digital WeaveThe "Mana" of this world is actually a wireless energy grid powered by a Dyson Swarm around the sun.Fireballs are localized thermal bursts triggered by "Ignition Scripts."Teleportation is the rapid deconstruction and 3D-printing of biological matter at "Relay Hubs."Healing is the deployment of medical nanobots that stitch flesh.

Goal

A critical "Update" is coming from the Core Intelligence that could wipe the "Legacy" (non-tech) populations. You must find the Root Access.
