They take the cattle truck to go home by a road that crosses the hillsides of the Champagne vineyard. Denis Pinard leaves the PMU bar drunk like every evening. He rides Tonnerre Mécanique and heads towards his home at the other end of Fecampe
Denis Pinard and Gérard Goris are companions of shenanigans and misfortune. Denis Mathon prefers to avoid them as much as possible but provides them with contraband wine from time to time as well as Champagne lees for the manufacture of artisanal soothing balm.
