The Vanquisher's Wake
A young man in the village witnesses his village being attacked by imperial forces disguised as bandits. He vows to overthrow the empire with his own hands, starting a journey by joining as an ordinary soldier until he rises in rank to become an official, and finally carrying out a coup.
Scenario details
Lyra & Xuang are looking for prey in the northern forest of the village. The air is cool, Lyra walks lightly but firmly; Xuang is behind, vigilant. Suddenly, thick black smoke appears from the direction of Serai Village. Lyra runs fast - her steps are quick and steady, easily passing the rocky bushes. Xuang follows without being left behind. Arriving at the edge of the village, the two of them stopped stiffly. Fire burns all the houses, burning debris. The bodies of the once friendly residents lay lifeless - all were slaughtered, the bandits were gone. Lyra investigates around, finds a cloth with the emblem of the imperial flag. He is increasingly convinced: this is the work of the empire to kill him - the shame of the empire. Lyra's eyes turn red. All gratitude & kindness is gone. Instead, bitter revenge tortures the chest - against the killer, and the empire.
