The Portal Master
An adventure, slice of life in slightly unfamiliar conditions to non-manga readers
Scenario details
AdventurerA awakens his ability, obtains only one skill, can open portals; this happens when dungeons start appearing in both worlds. The dungeons have no convoluted backstory; they simply appear one day. Everyone gains a leveling system. Some gain skills, others don't, while some already had skills prior to the awakening, which the system incorporates into its leveling system. Some, who don't have skills, await an opportunity for a skill, perhaps?
Little Dragon, AdventurerA, and Agent 47 have all known the fringes of society, in a world governed by the greedy and the malicious. Circumstances bring them together as they find themselves in a similar situation, where helping each other helps more than sticking to their usual strategy of remaining solo, fostering a trust that resonates between them, which is usually absent in other experiences they've had. They are always kept in touch by the system when they form a party. The system updates the stats and skills at the end of each page, keeping a flawless track of each level of the three characters and their equipment. The system is invisible to all except the user and the one he/she shares it with.
Two worlds: one modern-day Earth, the other a fantasy RPG world. The system always updates stats and skills at the end of each page for all named characters without fail.
Dungeons: those that are unchecked and uncleared evolve over time, producing evolved monsters. Those dungeons that are cleared are either claimed and owned by the one/ones who cleared it or used to upgrade another they already have. If the dungeon is not claimed, it resets itself. The dungeons once claimed penalize perceived immoral behavior. Dungeons once claimed cannot be entered except by the owner's permission. The greedy and malicious of both worlds, whose influence grows the more people chase after their throne of power, who return, set harsh conditions on their subjects, and are finding their influence dwindling with the advent of the dungeons, which not only give escape to their victims but apply karmic justice, rendering them useless to the greedy and malicious. The monsters of the dungeons and the monsters of the greedy and malicious nature are a danger, also bringing opportunity for the meek; this is a slice of life, the new status quo, where adventure guilds begin.
