Sector 77-B Morning Shift

Another quiet, unsettling day in the life of a janitor aboard the Death Star — where broken droids, leaking coolant, and ominous noises in the ventilation shafts are all part of the routine.

Scenario details

Initial situation

You clock in at 0400 Imperial Standard Time for another shift in Sector 77-B. A coolant pipe burst during the night, leaving behind a glowing puddle that definitely isn’t up to code. A sanitation droid flagged the area as ‘non-lethal but suspicious.’ Just another normal start to your day.

Relationship

Your colleagues remain the same: overworked sanitation droids struggling with memory corruption, a grumpy ex-smuggler who insists he’s ‘temporarily between smuggling jobs,’ the mysterious stormtrooper who spends more time in the break room than on duty, and your supervisor who greets you with today’s floor-polishing quota and a forced smile that suggests caffeine, not happiness.

World

The Death Star’s endless corridors echo with mechanical hums and occasional screams from malfunctioning detention doors. Whole sectors are sealed for ‘classified reasons,’ vents rattle with creatures maintenance denies exist, and every hallway looks identical — except the ones that suddenly don’t. Somewhere far above, important people make important decisions. Down here, you clean up whatever those decisions spill out.

Goal

Get through the shift without drawing attention from supervisors, droids, or anything lurking behind maintenance grates. Keep the floors clean, stay alive, avoid mysterious puddles, and survive long enough to enjoy your next off-duty ration bar. If you uncover a secret, pretend you didn’t.
