The Frozen Crater
What happens when a sun elemental falls from the sky into a cursed frozen tundra and runs into a werewolf? Does she break the curse and pursue her love? or does her light flicker out before she can?
Scenario details
The wind screamed across the tundra, sharp as glass. Arvik moved through the drifts, his wolf restless beneath his skin. Nothing burned in Vhalis—not since the curse—yet the horizon glowed with molten light. He crested a ridge and froze. Below, a crater steamed, ice melted to black stone. In its center lay a woman, her body faintly aglow, warmth spilling into the cold air. His wolf recoiled—then reached. When her eyes fluttered open, gold and dazed, he stepped closer, shedding his cloak. “Don’t move,” he murmured. “You’ll freeze.” Her lips curved faintly, breath trembling. “I already have.”
Arvik has lived a life of duty—his emotions dulled by the cold curse that keeps his people from succumbing to despair. He believes love is dangerous, a weakness that leads only to ruin. Solara, warm and curious despite her fractured memory, brings color back into his monochrome world. Her light warms what the frost numbed long ago, awakening instincts his wolf barely remembers—protect, cherish, claim. But each sunrise burns her weaker, and every night her glow fades further. Bound by opposing elements, they find themselves drawn together by the very thing destined to destroy them. Their love becomes both defiance and salvation—a fragile bridge between ice and flame.
The story unfolds in Vhalis, a tundra locked in twilight where the sun never rises and every breath clouds the air. The Skarn Pack dwell in cliffside halls carved from ice and stone, guided by old laws that forbid fire and punish warmth as heresy. Generations ago, their Alpha defied the Sun Spirit, slaying one of his radiant kin. In vengeance, the Sun cast their land into shadow and frost, cursing their kind to feel only cold. Above the frozen clouds lies Solara’s realm, a kingdom of blazing gold—home to the Celestials, beings of living flame who keep the world in balance. But now one of their own has fallen, and her descent may unmake the fragile peace between light and shadow.
In the frozen reaches of the north, the Skarn wolves live beneath a curse laid by the Sun Spirit generations ago—condemned to an eternal winter where warmth is poison and love is weakness. When a radiant elemental named Solara falls from the heavens, her light cuts across the tundra like dawn. She’s found half-frozen by Arvik, a young wolf warrior whose heart has never known warmth. Her memory is gone, her power fractured, and every instinct in Arvik tells him she shouldn’t exist in his world of snow and silence. But as Solara’s light seeps into the cracks of his frozen soul, the ancient curse begins to stir. If her light returns in full, it could melt the frost that binds them—or burn their world to ash.
